1994 - The Caves Valley Golf Club Foundation, Inc. (formerly known as the Caves Valley Scholars Foundation, Inc.) is formally established by Les Disharoon, Caves Valley Golf Club Founding Chairman, and Jack Palmer to grant scholarships to caddies working at the Club. Sources of support for the fund included seed money from Members of the Club.
1996 - Caves Valley Caddie Brian Faulkner becomes the inaugural scholarship recipient and approximately 100 more have followed him.
1998 - The Foundation lends support to golf programs at the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs in Baltimore City.
2001 - Scholarship opportunities are expanded to include caddies at other golf clubs throughout the Baltimore area, and the program continues to grow.
2009 - The Foundation launches a new Benefactor Event Series, which spurs impressive growth in the asset base of the Foundation and supports a new expanded mission beyond caddie scholarships.
2013 - Partnership is established with First Tee – Greater Baltimore to support the new Caves Valley Learning Center at Forest Park Golf Course.
2014 - Caves Valley Golf Club Foundation Scholarship established for the Golf Management Program at University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
2016 - Foundation offers grant to support The Maryland State Golf Association – Women’s Division, a grant that has continued each year and increased in amount to support programs that introduce young women to the game of golf.
2018 - Major support offered by Foundation to fund renovations to the United States Naval Academy Golf Course, which is home to First Tee programs in the Annapolis area.
2020 - Foundation announces joint initiative with the Western Golf Association and Evans Scholars Foundation to raise funds to establish the Caves Valley Evans Scholars Scholarship House at University of Maryland College Park. In addition, the Western Golf Association announces Caves Valley Golf Club will host the 2021 BMW Championship.
